What is the Additive Application Timestamp and how does it work?

The additive application timestamp records the exact date and time an additive or recipe is applied to a plant batch, ensuring accurate traceability, compliance, and historical reporting.

Overview

The additive application timestamp records the exact date and time when an additive or recipe is applied to a plant batch in the system.

This feature is especially important for fertigation and pest management, where the timing of an application can directly impact treatment effectiveness, reporting accuracy, and regulatory compliance.

Why is the additive application timestamp important?

Timing plays a critical role in cultivation workflows. The additive application timestamp helps ensure that:

  • Applications are traceable and auditable

  • Records reflect when the application actually happened, not just when it was entered in the system

  • Compliance requirements related to treatment timing are met

  • Historical data can be accurately reviewed and analyzed

How does the additive application timestamp work?

When applying an additive or a recipe to a plant batch, the system allows you to specify the date and time of application.

Application flow:

  1. Select the additive or recipe you want to apply

  2. Enter the date and time of application

  3. Complete and save the application

The timestamp is saved together with the application record and used across traceability and reporting views.

Can I set a past or future application time?

  • Past date and time: Allowed
You can record applications retroactively if they were applied earlier.

  • Future date and time: Not allowed
Additive applications cannot be registered for a future date or time.

This restriction ensures accurate traceability and prevents incorrect or misleading records.

Where can I see the additive application timestamp?

The additive application timestamp is visible in the additives table of the plant batch

Important notes

  • The additive application timestamp reflects the actual time of application, not necessarily the moment the record was created in the system.

  • Make sure the selected date and time accurately represent when the additive or recipe was applied to avoid inconsistencies in reports and audits.

Frequently asked questions

Is the timestamp mandatory?

Yes. The date and time of application must be set to ensure proper traceability.

Can I edit the timestamp after saving?

Yes. You can edit the additive application timestamp from the Additives tab of the Plant Batch, as long as the application already exists.

This allows you to correct the timestamp if it was entered incorrectly or if the application was registered after it was performed.

Why would I need to edit an additive timestamp?

To correct a mistake, adjust the time if the application was registered later, or align the record with the actual time of application.

Does editing the timestamp change other data?

No. Only the date and time of application are updated. All other application details remain unchanged.

Why can’t I select a future date and time?

Because additive applications must reflect real, completed actions. Allowing future timestamps could create inaccurate traceability records and compliance issues.

What if I know an application is planned for later?

Planned or scheduled applications should be managed outside the application record. The timestamp is only for applications that have already been performed.
