Step-by-Step Guide to Managing and Germinating Seed Batches in Cannavigia for Efficient Tracking and Compliance

Manage Seeds in the Plant Inventory

The Plant inventory page (Cultivation > Plants) in Cannavigia provides a detailed view of the seeds in your inventory and facilitates the germination process.
Here's a guide on how to manage your seeds and start new plant batches:

Access Seed Details

  1. Go to Cultivation > Plants

  2. Open the Seeds tab or click on the Seeds info box to see detailed information about your seed inventory

  1. View the Amount of seeds for each cultivar



Germinate Seeds

Start a Plant Batch

  1. Click the green Germinate Seeds button to start a plant batch from your seeds

  2. The Germinate Seeds: Create a plant batch dialog will open with the pre-selected cultivar already filled in

  3. The Article is pre-selected, displaying the number of available seeds for that article automatically

  4. Enter the quantity used  for each selected article

  5. Selecting Articles: You can select other articles from the drop-down list, as long as they have the same cultivar and type (seed)

  6. In the Plant Batch Properties tab, enter all relevant properties for the plant batch

  7. Complete all required fields: Name (the software automatically generates a name based on the cultivar and the starting date, but you have the option to modify it to a different name if you prefer), Area, Project, and Estimated Duration of Phases

  8. You can select your Cultivation and Irrigation methods, if you are working with a Mother Plants batch and/or single-tagged plant batch, simply check the appropriate selection boxes

    You have the option to skip creating a tagged Plant Batch at this stage and can choose to do so later if you wish. For instructions on how to convert your Plant Batch to a tagged batch, please check this guide:  Generate a Plant Tag

  9. Click Save to create a new plant batch with seeds as the origin



Note: Articles, areas, tasks and equipment must be pre-entered individually before they can be selected from the drop-down list.
